Vantage — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Vantage ("Vantage", "we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the Vantage mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Vantage is

Vantage is a remote-oversight tool. It lets an owner (who funds and oversees a project, often from abroad) and a field worker (who carries out the work on the ground) share verified daily check-ins, photos, work logs, and a record of money relating to a livestock or building project.

Vantage helps you record and see what is happening. It is an aid to oversight — not a guarantee that any property, livestock, build, or money is secure, accurate, or as described. We do not control, employ, or supervise the people you invite or work with.

Important: Vantage is not a financial service

Vantage is not a bank, payment processor, money-transfer service, or escrow service. The "money sent / received / spent" features and receipts are only a record of transactions that you and others arrange and carry out outside the app. We never hold, move, or transfer your money, and we do not verify the truth or accuracy of any amount, receipt, log, photo, or check-in entered by users.


2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a binding contract.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and device secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Roles, projects, and content

  • A user may own some projects and work on others. Owners can invite workers using a join code; joining a project does not change who owns it.
  • You retain ownership of the photos, text, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant Vantage a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display Your Content only as needed to operate and provide the Service (for example, showing a check-in photo to the project's owner).
  • You confirm you have the right to upload Your Content and that doing so does not break any law or infringe anyone's rights. Do not upload other people's personal information or images without their consent.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
  • enter false, misleading, or fabricated check-ins, logs, money records, or photos;
  • harass, threaten, or abuse other users;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
  • copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly allowed; or
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.


5. Subscriptions, trials, and payment

  • Working on a project is free. A worker never needs to pay to record check-ins, logs, or money on projects they have joined.
  • Owning a project requires a paid subscription after a one-month free trial that begins when you set up your first owned project.
  • Current pricing: US$20 per month, or US$200 per year (which works out at roughly two months free versus monthly). Prices may be shown in your local currency by the app store.
  • If your subscription lapses, your access to projects you own may be paused until you resubscribe; projects you only work on remain free and unaffected.
  • Billing is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your app store account settings, and the app store's terms also apply to your purchase.
  • Refunds are governed by the relevant app store's policy and your non-waivable statutory rights.
  • We may change prices or plans; we will give reasonable notice, and changes will not affect a period you have already paid for.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data, including check-in photos and the optional GPS location captured at check-in. By using the Service you acknowledge that policy.


7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may update, change, or discontinue features, and we may carry out maintenance that temporarily limits availability.


8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, and we do not warrant that information entered by users is accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that it will prevent loss, theft, fraud, or any other harm relating to your project, livestock, build, or money;
  • we are not liable for the acts, omissions, honesty, or performance of any owner, worker, or other user; and
  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably need to (for example, for legal, security, or operational reasons). Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licences already exercised, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.


10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.


11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — except that, if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live.
